8) Hands Down, Words Fly

There are different schools of thinking when it comes to hands. Where should we put our hands? How should we gesture? A public speaking teacher would coach you to use your hand whilst speaking. Some acting teachers out there might encourage you to gibberish as an approach to acting. I would say I disagree with them, my view is different.

A very well-respected acting teacher once told me that a lot of hands means you don’t believe enough in what you are speaking about. The more you wave your hands, the more it seems to people that you are telling them lies. If it is truthful, you don’t need your hands at all, words are more than enough. For this reason, try to keep your hands down as you don’t need them, just speak the lines.

Nevertheless, if you already have an emotional integrity, emotions will start to grow inside yourself. As a result, your whole body will start to move naturally. This time, the differences are that you are so ready to be moved by your partner, there are no awkward gestures, you body is soft, everyone will be able to read your feeling from your body language, and lastly, your words will fly as you are now focusing on things happening around you not your clumsy hands.
